TFC2: Collapse of the Bronze Age

Hattusa just burned to the ground. Mutti doesn't care about empires. He cares about his kids.

TFC2 is a story-driven RTS about a small caravan trying to get through the end of the Bronze Age. You're not the conqueror in this one. You're a refugee.

Version 1.0: 6 November 2026. Windows, Mac and Linux. Developed by Wield Interactive, published by MicroProse.

What kind of game is it?

You build a base, gather food, train units and fight in real time, but the goal is usually to keep your people alive while the world around them collapses. Food feeds your population and your army, and a surplus is needed for progress. Train too many soldiers too fast and you'll feel it.

If you played the first TFC, the core loop will feel familiar. We kept that on purpose. Most of what changed is around it, starting with the campaign. It's also more polished all round.

The campaign follows Mutti, his family and the people around them.
Food comes first. When it runs out, everything else follows.
Real-time battles, with Tactical Pause in single player.

The setting

Around 1200 BC, the world of the eastern Mediterranean came apart. Hattusa, capital of the Hittites, was abandoned and burned. Ugarit was destroyed. Egypt fought off the Sea Peoples and never quite recovered. Drought, famine and failing trade were probably all part of it, and historians are still arguing about the rest.

Most strategy games would put you on the throne for this. We put you on the road with everyone else.

What's in 1.0

Campaign
17 hand-crafted missions across four acts, written with our narrative designer.
Factions
Assyrians, Egyptians, Babylonians and Hittites, each with their own units and technologies. The Hittites are new to the series.
Skirmish and multiplayer
Offline skirmish and online multiplayer for up to six players, with bots if you want them. Multiplayer runs on dedicated servers.
Map Editor
The same tool we built the whole campaign with. Missions are scripted in Lua, and the Horde Mode Mini template shows how we do it.
Tactical Pause
Stop the clock in single player and give your orders.
Art style
An upgrade from the first TFC that keeps its feel. We updated the look shortly before 1.0 with stronger outlines. If you prefer the old one, it's a single toggle in the settings.
Languages
English, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Thanks, Early Access players

TFC2 spent about three months in Early Access, after a demo at Steam Next Fest. A lot of the game changed because of what people told us on Steam and Discord, so if that was you, thank you.
